Just as the Ethics committee prepares to sit to indefinitely suspend Senator Natasha; an interim court order is granted stopping the committee from sitting on the aforementioned matter
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has just received a temporary reprieve from the Ethics Committee’s investigation. An interim court order has been granted, stopping the committee from sitting and potentially suspending her indefinitely.
This development comes after Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was involved in an altercation with Senate President Godswill Akpabio on February 20, 2025. The dispute began when her seat was reassigned without prior notice, which she interpreted as an attempt to diminish her visibility and stifle her contributions.
The Ethics Committee was tasked with investigating the incident and submitting its findings within two weeks. However, with this interim court order, the committee’s proceedings have been halted pending further judicial review.
