Lagos APC Applauds Tinubu’s Security Emergency, Calls It Bold and Strategically Timed

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for declaring a national emergency on security, describing the decision as a bold step taken at a critical moment in the country’s battle against widespread violence and criminality.

In a statement released after a meeting of the party leadership in the state, the Lagos APC said the President’s directive shows a willingness to take firm and immediate action rather than relying on slow, gradual responses. The party said Tinubu’s approach demonstrates clarity of purpose and an understanding of the urgency of Nigeria’s security challenges.

The statement explained that the emergency declaration is expected to improve the coordination of security operations nationwide, strengthen intelligence activities, and speed up the deployment of equipment and personnel to troubled areas. The Lagos APC said these measures would help restore public trust and reassure citizens that the government is committed to securing the nation.

The party also praised the President for using a strategy that combines rapid security actions with structural reforms.
