Manchester City surged to the top of the Premier League standings, fueled by Josko Gvardiol’s stellar performance that guided them to a decisive 4-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday.

Gvardiol, the standout star of the match, wasted no time putting City ahead early on, setting the tone for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Phil Foden further bolstered City’s lead with his 25th goal of the season across all competitions.

As the game progressed, Gvardiol struck again, effectively sealing the fate of Fulham and securing three crucial points for his team. Julian Alvarez added to Fulham’s woes with a late penalty, compounded by Issa Diop’s dismissal for fouling the Argentine.

With this win, City now sit two points at the top, overtaking Arsenal in the race for the title.

Their fate could be sealed with a victory in their upcoming fixtures against Tottenham and West Ham.

City’s dominance over Fulham extends their record-breaking streak to 16 consecutive wins against the London side, solidifying their position as the team to beat in English football.

Why England lost 3-1 to Senegal – Harry Kane

Published

on

England captain, Harry Kane, has suggested that his team lost 3-1 against Senegal in an international friendly on Tuesday because Thomas Tuchel’s side were not good enough against the visitors.

According to the Bayern Munich striker, with and without the ball things were not clicking for the Three Lions during the encounter at City Ground.

Kane gave England the lead in the seven minutes, but three goals from Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diarra, and Cheikh Sabaly gave the West African giants the victory.

The outcome of the encounter was England’s first-ever defeat against an African opponent.

“Not good enough. We had moments, but with and without the ball things aren’t clicking, we’re not finding the right tempo,” Kane said at his post-match interview.

“We have lost that aggressive nature that we had.”

Kane also said England must improve as soon as possible if they are to contend for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after their latest defeat.
