Mokwa flood: Don’t take laws into your hands – Niger Speaker to victims
The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has appealed to the Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa communities affected by the recent flood to remain calm and peaceful.
He urged them not to take the law into their hands.
Sarkin-Daji made this appeal in a condolence message to the people of Mokwa Local Government Area and the entire Niger State over the recent devastating flood that has claimed lives and property.
“On behalf of the leadership and members of the 10th Assembly, I express our heartfelt sympathies to the affected communities, particularly Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa, where several lives were lost and buildings submerged due to hours of heavy rainfall,” he said.
The Speaker assured the people of Mokwa that the Assembly will continue to legislate laws that will benefit the people of Niger State.
He reassured the affected communities that the present administration, under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, is committed to providing support and relief to them.
