MY SUPPORT FOR IHEDIOHA ANCHORED BY PUBLIC OPINION – HON SUCCESS OPARA

As a resident of Mbonu Ojike, Ikenegbu Owerri, Imo State, and as a graduate of sociology Imo State University, I have had the privilege of interacting with numerous individuals in Owerri municipality.

Through my journalistic endeavors as the founder of Ekwutosblog, I have garnered recognition among households and offices in Owerri. My experience in politics, including running for councilorship in the 2024 local government election under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has given me insight into the pulse of the people.

In conversations with the public and politicians, I often inquire about their preference for the next Governor of Imo State. The response is overwhelmingly in favor of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, citing his sound leadership and vision for the state. Many acknowledge that during his brief tenure as governor, significant changes were implemented, showcasing his ability to lead.

Ihedioha’s Achievements in Governance

Emeka Ihedioha’s administration was marked by notable achievements, including:

Imo State was rated the least corrupt state in Nigeria under his leadership, with a corruption prevalence rate of 17.6%.

His government launched critical projects to improve transportation networks, education, and healthcare infrastructure.

Ihedioha implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA), Central Billing System (CBS), and Open Government System (OPS) to ensure transparency and accountability.

Given the public’s overwhelming support for Emeka Ihedioha, it is clear that he is the people’s choice for the 2027 Governorship Election. His mandate was unjustly stolen away, but it is time to recover it and rebuild Imo State. I urge fellow Imo State politicians to align with the people’s opinion and support Ihedioha’s candidacy.

By electing Emeka Ihedioha as the next Governor of Imo State, the people will be entrusting their state to a leader who has proven his ability to govern with transparency, accountability, and vision. Together, we can rebuild Imo State and create a brighter future for its citizens.
