The Senate has confirmed the nomination of former Chief of Defense Staff, Christopher Musa, as Minister of Defense following a five-hour grilling by lawmakers on Wednesday.

Ekwutosblog recalls that this came after some senators opposed a proposal to excuse the former Chief of Defense Staff and ministerial nominee from questioning.

Trouble began when the Senator representing Niger East, Sani Musa, suggested that the nominee be allowed to “take a bow and go”.

The Senate had commenced the screening of General Musa as the new Minister of Defence on Wednesday.
