NSCDC arrests four suspects for gang r@ping 13-year-old girl and c¥tting off another minor’s manhood in Niger state

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Niger State Command, has arrested a four-man syndicate for gang-r@ping a 13-year-old JSS 1 student in Pandogari town, Rafi Local Government Area of the state.

The state commandant of the Corps in the state, Joachim Okafor, who disclosed this in Minna on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 while parading the suspects, said that the gang also allegedly c¥t off the m@nhood of a three-year-old boy.

The suspects confessed that a witch doctor identified as Baba Sada, directed them to get the male g£nitals for a charm to make them immune to gun shot or knife attacks.

Okafor, who spoke through the Second-in-Command of the Niger State NSCDC, Abdulhamid Kabara, disclosed that luck ran against the suspects after the 13-year-old victim, Fatima Usman escaped from an uncompleted building they took her to in the outskirt of Pandogari.

“A girl of about 13 years old named Fatima Usman, a JSS 1 student of Government Day Secondary School Pandogari had an encounter with a gang of notorious boys who specialized in r@ping, maiming, and k!lling of school children. Fatima Usman reported the matter to the school principal, Mohammed Aketa, after having received several threats from one of the gang members,” he said.

“On Thursday, 2nd May 2024, the principal however informed the security operatives about the development and a strategy was put in place, using the girl as bait, it worked out perfectly as the man threatening the girl’s life was arrested. The arrested person identified himself as Aliyu Amiru, (M), 20 years of age, in the course of investigation mentioned other syndicate members.

​The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

​In furtherance of his commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment during the festive period, the Inspector-General has directed Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders across all states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory to implement robust security arrangements.
​Operational measures include:
​Strategic deployment of tactical teams and intelligence operatives.

​Deployment of the Special Intervention Squad and conventional police personnel to Eid prayer grounds and critical infrastructure.
​Increased presence at highways, motor parks, recreational centers, and other public spaces to ensure peaceful, hitch-free celebrations.

​The IGP has also ordered heightened visibility policing, coordinated patrols, enhanced surveillance operations, and intelligence-led stop-and-search duties. These actions are aimed at proactively deterring criminal activities and ensuring a swift response to any emerging threats.

​IGP Disu calls on members of the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with law enforcement agencies, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the following emergency lines:
