The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, on October 8, 2024, bid farewell to the 2023 Batch C National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who served at the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) headquarters in Abuja, marking the official completion of their one-year national service.

The CGC, alongside other senior officers, inspected a memorable passing-out parade mounted by the outgoing corps members.

In his speech, CGC Adeniyi emphasized the importance of discipline, teamwork, and commitment in their future endeavors, encouraging them to carry these values into their professional lives. He further acknowledged the dedication and contributions of the corps members throughout their service year.

Highlighting the potential opportunities that lie ahead, CGC Adeniyi shared personal experiences from his own NYSC service year. According to him, he initially hoped for retention in the service, he spoke of the unpredictability of life’s paths, urging the outgoing corps members to remain humble and disciplined, regardless of the careers they choose to pursue.

The passing-out parade concluded with a sense of accomplishment and optimism, as the Batch C corps members looked forward to the next chapters of their professional journeys.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is taking a strong stance against the Nigerian government, led by President Bola Tinubu.
