Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide David Oyedepo has issued a strong warning over the rising wave of attacks targeting Christian communities across Nigeria. He called on believers, church leaders, and concerned citizens to take responsibility in safeguarding their communities to prevent what he described as a descent into genocide and national anarchy.

Speaking during a church service, Oyedepo expressed deep concern over repeated incidents of violence, including assaults on worship centres and the killing of innocent citizens. He noted that the pattern of coordinated attacks suggests an urgent need for collective action, vigilance, and closer engagement with authorities.

He stressed that Nigerians must not remain passive while security conditions deteriorate. According to him, both government institutions and the public share the responsibility of ensuring that places of worship remain safe, adding that silence or inaction in the face of such violence could embolden perpetrators.

Oyedepo also urged Christians to intensify prayers for the nation while at the same time adopting practical safety measures. He explained that faith should be accompanied by steps that protect lives, defend communities, and help maintain national stability.

The cleric repeated his long standing concerns about the state of security, warning that unchecked hostilities could escalate into a large scale humanitarian crisis if left unaddressed. He called on federal and state authorities to strengthen efforts to tackle violent extremism and restore confidence among affected communities.
