Peter Obi’s confusion is favoring Governor Soludo because Obi is supporting Anambra Labout Party candidate and he also claims to be part of ADC coalition ——–Hon Ikenna Azomchime
Hon. Ikenna Azomchine, the South East Coordinator of the Obedient Movement, has expressed concern over the role of former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi in the upcoming Anambra governorship election, warning that mixed signals from his camp are creating confusion among supporters.
Speaking during an interview with Trust TV, Azomchine, popularly called the “Obedient General,” pointed to what he described as a contradiction in Obi’s political alignment. According to him, while Obi has continued to identify as a Labour Party member and recently endorsed the party’s candidate for the November 8 governorship race, he is also part of an opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“What I don’t understand is this, There is an ADC governorship aspirant in Anambra state, but he is quiet about that. Yet, our principal has gone ahead to endorse a Labour Party candidate in the same election.”
The movement coordinator explained that many Obidients across Anambra feel sidelined by the endorsement, noting that supporters of Obi are spread across various political parties, including the APC, APGA, and PDP. He stressed that imposing a single choice risks alienating the broader base that rallied behind Obi during the 2023 presidential contest.
Azomchine admitted that the division is already benefiting the sitting governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, who faces a fragmented opposition
He further revealed that while he personally raised concerns with Obi over the decision, he respects the former presidential candidate’s right to take a position. However, he insisted that Obidients in Anambra should be free to interact with all aspirants and decide for themselves who to support
