The Ogun State Police Command has declared a senior Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, officer, Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her teenage daughter, Sewa Lasisi, missing.

In a statement issued on Friday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said the officer and her daughter left their residence in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Sunday and have not been seen since.

Oluwamayokun, who holds the rank of Superintendent Route Commander, serves as a senior operational officer with the FRSC, overseeing multiple routes and coordinating enforcement activities across the state.

According to the police, neither family members nor colleagues have been able to contact the officer or her daughter, as their mobile phones remain unreachable.

“The Ogun State Police Command is seeking the assistance of the general public in locating one SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, a 38-year-old female officer of the FRSC Abeokuta Unit, and her daughter, Sewa Lasisi, who have been declared missing,” the statement read.

Police said the report was filed at the Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on Tuesday, November 5, by an FRSC officer stationed in Abeokuta, together with members of the victims’ family.

According to the statement, the mother and daughter left their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Sunday, November 2, and have not returned since.

“All efforts to reach them on the phone have proved abortive,” the statement added.

Odutola stated that the Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding their disappearance and ensure their safe return.

The command further urged anyone with credible information about their whereabouts to report to the nearest police station, assuring that all details provided would be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
