Police enforce third-party motor insurance in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command stated that the implementation of the mandatory third-party motor vehicle insurance begins Saturday 1st February 2025.

SP Ramhan Nansel, the Command’s PPRO informed the press on Sunday the the command would begin enforcement.

“We wishe to inform the public, particular vehicle owners, that the enforcement of mandatory third-party motor vehicle insurance commenced today, Saturday, 1st February 2025, across the state.” He stated.

“This action is in line with the directive from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, to all Police Commands and Formations, mandating the strict adherence of all motor vehicle owners to the third-party insurance requirement as outlined by law.” Nansel added.

He further added that the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has called on all vehicle owners and operators who are yet acquired the third-party insurance to do so immediately to avoid legal consequences and promote road safety for all.

“CP Shetima also expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation from the public thus far and emphasized the importance of continued adherence to traffic regulations,” the statement added.
