Asake

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has expressed disappointment in award-winning Nigerian singer Asake over his newly unveiled tattoos.

The “Ololade Mi Asake” crooner recently shocked fans when he shared photos of his latest body art, which covered most parts of his body, including his face.

The singer, known for his love for tattoos, left little or no space untouched with the fresh designs.

Reacting on Facebook, Ossai strongly criticized Asake, accusing him of abandoning his roots and embracing what he described as “Western practices.”

In his words:

“Asake is exhibiting def*rmity and I’m disappointed in him. Asake was a poor boy whom God raised from grass to grace. Today, look at him and what he has become because of Western exposure. Since he relocated from Nigeria, he has tattooed his whole body and exhibiting pride.”

He further claimed the singer’s decision reflects “midlife anxiety,” adding that fame and fortune have left him “lonely at the top.”

Ossai continued:

“I don’t know what he’s feeling like with these low-key signs of midlife anxiety. People like this grow up frustrated and unhappy. This is why God doesn’t bless some persons because He knows they will be worse in the future with fame and money. Indeed, Asake is lonely at the top. I am really disappointed.”

Many social media users have since reacted to Ossai’s remarks.

  • Chichi Ogonna Mba wrote: “Let his God be that disappointed, cos u are not perfect.”

  • Felix Anasiudu shared a story: “At the top, I saw nothing there. There is nothing to see at the pinnacle of stardom but vanity, regret, and anguish!”

  • Sam E Oscar countered: “Not everyone who rose from grass to grace was lifted by God. The devil lifts people too. Don’t judge a book by its cover, many of these people are actually kind.”

  • Chinedu Eze added: “God is not the source of his wealth. Not every money is from God.”
