Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been officially installed as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland. The title was conferred on Sunday, December 21, 2025, by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, during a vibrant ceremony at the Alaafin’s Palace in Oyo Town.

Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, hailed the honour as well deserved. He praised Seyi Tinubu for his growing influence among youths and his philanthropic contributions, emphasizing that the title is more than ceremonial.

“This is not just a traditional title; it is a call to service and recognition of leadership potential,” Ogundoyin said, highlighting that it reflects values cherished by the Yoruba people, including excellence, community service, and legacy.

The event has drawn attention, especially following a recent closed-door meeting between Seyi Tinubu, Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun Williams, and Alapini, five months after the latter’s emotional outcry sparked widespread social media reactions. The meeting has since generated discussions among Nigerians.

This installation reinforces Seyi Tinubu’s emerging role in leadership and community engagement within Yorubaland, marking a significant milestone in his public and social influence.
