INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan (SAN), has guaranteed a peaceful and credible Anambra governorship election, citing extensive preparations and the Peace Accord signing organised by the National Peace Committee led by Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar.
He praised the Peace Committee’s efforts in promoting non-violent elections and urged political parties to genuinely uphold the peace agreement. Amupitan confirmed that INEC has completed logistics for the November 8, 2025 poll, including deploying 24,000 personnel, improving material distribution, and finalising a voter register of 2.8 million people.
To ensure security, over 55,000 security officers will be deployed, with strong measures against vote-buying. The INEC Chairman expressed confidence that the election will be peaceful and reflect democratic values, calling on all stakeholders to promote unity and uphold the will of the people.
