A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after sharing a strong opinion about streamers and the kind of content being pushed on social media.
According to him, streamers have become a nuisance in society, producing content he believes is neither educational nor impactful. He accused many of them of wasting time, misleading young people, and promoting the wrong values.
He referenced a video he claimed to have seen of a primary school pupil saying he wants to become a streamer, questioning what exactly the child intends to “stream” and expressing concern about how early children are being influenced by online trends.
In his words, if he were in government, he would ban all streamers outright, insisting that their activities contribute little to national development. He went further to call for the persecution of controversial figures, even mentioning that some should be locked up in Kirikiri.
