Nigerian songstress Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, achieved a groundbreaking milestone on March 20, 2025, as the inaugural performer at The Dome in Nasrec, Johannesburg. The Grammy-winning sensation brought her highly anticipated Born in the Wild tour to South Africa, delivering a spellbinding performance that left the audience entranced.

Tems, renowned for her distinctive blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and neo-soul, commanded the stage with her captivating presence, enthralling the packed venue with her signature sound. A highlight of the evening was her rendition of Burning, a track from her debut album that has been garnering global attention. The song, which earned a nomination for Best R&B Song at the 67th Grammy Awards, had the crowd singing along with fervor, creating an unforgettable ambiance.

The concert transformed into a midweek celebration for fans, who embraced the energy with infectious enthusiasm. Although Tems had previously performed at an exclusive event in South Africa in 2022, this marked her first major concert in the country, powered by Big Concerts. The Dome, which opened its doors in January 2025, provided an ideal setting for Tems’ deeply emotive music.
