Thailand is world’s best country for food as voted by British readers
Thailand has been voted as the world’s No.1 country for food by readers of British magazine Condé Nast Traveller with a score of 98.33 points out of 100.
“Thailand has mastered the art of delivering mouth-watering cuisine with minimal fuss, and whether you’re a fan of Thai food or not, the heart-warming bowls of noodles, curries, and soups are sure to win you over, especially when served by a friendly local,” the magazine gushed.
Thailand is renowned for its globally loved cuisine, characterized by bold, aromatic flavors from spices and herbs, and a balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy tastes.
Popular dishes include staples like pad Thai, tom yum goong, green curry, and mango sticky rice, with street food being an integral and must-try aspect of Thai culinary culture.
Italy ranked second, followed by Japan and Vietnam.
More than half a million readers participated in the survey, sharing insights on travel experiences across cities, islands, hotels, resorts, cruise ships, spas, and airlines.
The Readers’ Choice Awards, the longest-running honor in the travel industry, recognize excellence in hotels, resorts and destinations worldwide.
