Tunde Onakoya Provides Scholarship for Nigerian Father’s Children
Renowned chess player Tunde Onakoya has stepped in to help a Nigerian father struggling to send his five children to school.
The father’s heartfelt plea for assistance caught his attention, and he has now committed to covering the children’s education until they reach university. The father shared his situation on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that his children had to drop out of school due to financial hardships. He wrote:
“Universe, I’m reaching out directly on behalf of my innocent children (including my first son, who isn’t in this picture). They have been unable to continue school this term and need an education. I’ve done my best, but like many others, my purchasing power has been diminished.”
Touched by the father’s message, Onakoya made a generous pledge:
“Your children will definitely return to school. @chessinslums will take full responsibility for their tuition until they finish university. I’ve also made a donation. May God keep you healthy and alive to see your children succeed.”
We commend Tunde Onakoya for his kindness and generosity, and we wish the family all the best on this new journey.
