U.S. To Explore Venezuela Oil And Sell Large Volumes To Other Countries After Maduro’s Arrest — Trump Says
President Donald Trump says the United States will begin exploring Venezuela’s vast oil reserves and selling large volumes to other countries following the arrest of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro by U.S. forces.
Trump made the announcement hours after a dramatic military operation removed Maduro from power and took him out of the country. He said Washington would temporarily oversee Venezuela’s affairs as part of efforts to stabilise the nation and dismantle criminal networks.
Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were reportedly seized during a late-night operation in Caracas and transported aboard a U.S. military vessel before arriving in New York. They are expected to face charges linked to alleged narco-t+rrorism and drug tr@fficking conspiracies.
The operation represents the most aggr£ssive U.S. push for regime change in decades and has sparked renewed debate among legal experts over its legitimacy under international law. U.S. officials, however, insist the action was necessary to curb the flow of illegal drugs and restore order in the oil-rich South American country.
