Uche Secondus, Austin Opara, two other Rivers leaders back Fubara
Amid renewed face-off between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike and his estranged political son, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, some political heavyweights in the state have expressed support for the latter.
They include, Prince Uche Secondus, Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, Alabo Abiye Sekibo, and former Governor, Sir Celestine Omehia.
The state governor, Fubara, disclosed their stance on Thursday during the 2026 New Year State Banquet held at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Speaking at the event, Fubara said distinguished “leaders who sat with us today signal their firm support not only for this administration but also for President Bola Tinubu”.
Ekwutosblog reports that the FCT Minister recently fell out with the governor months after President Bola Tinubu brokered peace between them.
In recent events, the former governor indicated that his successor has deviated from what was agreed during the peace deal.
Wike insisted that agreement is agreement, signaling the move to stop the governor’s re-election bid.
