US Detains Ghana’s Ex-Finance Minister

Ghana’s former finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has been detained by US immigration over the status of his stay, his lawyers said.

Ofori-Atta, wanted in Ghana on corruption charges, has been in the US since January 2025 for medical treatment. He is cooperating with authorities while his legal team seeks a resolution.
