YOUNG IMOLITE LIGHTS UP AMA HAUSA COMMUNITY IN OWERRI MUNICIPAL COUNCIL

~ Says, you don’t need a title to make a difference ~

A young Nigerian youth from Imo State in Uzoagba in Ikeduru local government area of the State, named Promise Nyeaka Chidera installs solar energy street lights at Ama Hausa and Old nekede road axis, off the popular Douglas road in the capital city of Owerri.

The solar street lights was installed at a strategic locations in Ama Hausa community and around the area.


When interviewed on the rationale for embarking on such a capital intensive project, which is numbering up to twenty installed at the very location in Owerri Municipality.

He said, ” I am blessed with a passion to serve the people in any capacity available for me to serve”

Mr Promise Nyeaka better known as UPDATE is a Young graduate of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) with a first class honours degree in electrical and electronics engineering, went further to say “I believed every contribution towards a better society counts. You Don’t Need A Title To Make A Difference”

He opined, as citizens of this nation , we don’t need to rely on the government always to do everything for the masses.

UPDATE who was a councillorship aspirant at the just concluded local government and councillorship election, in Uzoagba ward in Ikeduru LGA stated ” A call for a better society requires involvement of all, in order to assist the government.

Honourable Promise asserted that installing of these street solar energy lights will enhance in providing security to the environment, and provides safety and quality good night life in the area.

He ended by saying “I don’t seek praise or recognition; my reward lies in making a positive impact to the society”

Arriving at the Ama Hausa community for execution of his intent, Hon UPDATE and his friends were received at the palace of Saraki, who was unavailable but was represented by Honourable Alhaji Sulaiman Ibrahim Senior Special Assistant to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Gender and Vulnerable Groups(Men) Northern Affairs together with other leaders of the Hausa community.


Hon. Alhaji Sulaiman expressed satisfaction for such a benevolent act from the young youth, and thanked him immensely for lighting up the community. He equally prayed for Mr Promise Nyeaka and asked God Almighty to continue protecting and guiding him in achieving all his good intentions.

Hon Usman Bala a resident in Ama Hausa community, who also aspired for the position of councillorship of the ward at Ama Hausa, expressed gratitude to UPDATE for carrying out such a highly capital intensive project in the community.


He said, he is happy witnessing one of his intentions for the ward being actualized by his good friend Mr Promise Nyeaka Chidera “UPDATE”

Usman assured of protection of these installed solar energy street lights in the community.

Chidera said he extracts inspiration from the altruistic of the State governor His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma (Onwa Onyoko) whom he described as a magnificence governor, made references to the quality good roads constructions and other ongoing infrastructural development in the State.

He indicated that,he is a strong supporter of Imo State governor and a true believer in the 3R Shared Prosperity Government of Sen Hope Uzodimma.

He ended with ” my commitment towards a community development and services to humanity remains unwavering, and my willingness to serve, empower and inspire other youths to key into making a positive impact in the community and the society at large.

Personnel of the Nigerian military were seen engaging in a fight during the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Bayelsa on Friday.

In a video spotted on social media, the driver of a Hilux vehicle marked “Naval Police” was seen stepping down from his vehicle and exchanging words with another driver.

After returning to his vehicle, another driver with a rifle approached him and threw a punch at the Naval Police driver, triggering a brawl.

The incident quickly escalated into a free-for-all, with personnel attached to both vehicles exchanging blows, while stunned civilians watched in disbelief.

The cause of the altercation could not be immediately ascertained as of press time.

HRH Ekwueme of Ochia Kingdom Iynched & kiIIed in Imo.

Gunmen on Friday night killed the traditional ruler of Ochia, Barr Paulinus Ekwueme, alongside security operatives in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State. The attackers ambushed the monarch at the boundary of Assa and Ochia communities after he returned from a trip abroad earlier in the week.

Some security operatives in his convoy were also shot dead. Eyewitness said the monarch and the security operatives were set ablaze after the killing, adding that the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area had been thrown into mourning.

Hrm lives in America, but some in his town accuse him of acquiring lots of wealth coming from the oil in their land and yet they have no nepa (light) and other amenities, and that this angered the youths of his community to take this step. One said Ms Duruaku wrote, “he ate the youth empowerment meant given to him by shell oil company and ran abroad for years”

Abuja hotel collapse: Wike orders arrest of owner, to convert land to public use

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate arrest of the owner of a multi-story hotel that collapsed in Jikwoyi, Abuja last Friday, April 4 and announced that the land would be seized for public use.

LIB had reported that the building crumbled while workers were on site, triggering an emergency response from relevant authorities.

Visiting the site today April 7, Wike said the building was constructed without approval from the FCT Department of Development Control and that all the stop-work notices sent to the builders were ignored by the developer.

Wike confirmed that while there were no fatalities, several people sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. He warned that the outcome could have been far worse.

Announcing the government’s plans for the land, Wike said the FCT Administration will take over the land for public use, noting that those responsible for the illegal construction will face prosecution in accordance with the law.

He added that the local community would be consulted to determine a suitable public-purpose project for the reclaimed site.
